The town of Cres, the biggest town on the island of Cres, is located on the bottom of a well-sheltered bay on the west part of the island. Ancient structures and the ancient fortress of Crepsa bear witness to a long and rich history of the island. <\/p>\n

The fortified old town centre, shaped in the form of a rectangle punctuated by 5 towers and several gates, was built during Venetian rule and, apart from several later additions, has for the most part retained its appearance to this day.<\/p>\n

For that reason, a walk through the town centre will take you back to the Mediterranean as it once was and in the footsteps of our ancestors \u2013 the people that created a culture that still fascinates us.<\/p>\n

Grad Cres, najve\u0107e mjesto otoka Cresa, smje\u0161ten je na dnu dobro za\u0161ti\u0107enog zaljeva na zapadnoj strani otoka. Prapovijesne gra\u0111evine i anti\u010dka utvrda Crepsa svjedo\u010de o dugoj i bogatoj povijesti otoka.<\/p>

Stara gradska jezgra, okru\u017eena zidinama u obliku pravokutnika s pet kula i nekoliko gradskih vrata, formirana je prije kraja venecijanske vladavine i osim nekoliko kasnijih dogradnji, sa\u010duvala je uglavnom do danas nekada\u0161nji izgled.<\/p>
