Mesto Cres, najve\u010dji kraj na otoku Cres, se nahaja na dnu dobro za\u0161\u010ditenega zaliva na zahodni strani otoka. Prazgodovinske zgradbe in anti\u010dna utrdba Crepsa pri\u010dajo o dolgi in bogati zgodovini otoka. <\/p>\n

Staro mestno jedro, obkro\u017eeno z obzidjem v obliki pravokotnika s petimi stolpi in nekaj mestnimi vrati, je nastalo pred koncem bene\u0161ke vladavine in je z izjemo nekaj poznej\u0161ih nadgradenj do danes v ve\u010dji meri ohranilo svoj prvotni videz.<\/p>\n
